NEWPORT SCOUT AND GUIDE GANG SHOW 2009
On Sunday 3rd May (see schedule below) cast will need
to bring to the theatre any costumes they have been
provided, their uniforms and any other items they have been
specifically asked to bring. These items will be left at
the theatre for Show week and should all be labelled.
Please report to the stage door and please do not arrive
before the time given as the door will not be manned prior
to this time and must be locked for security.
On Monday 4th May it is important cast arrive
promptly. The stage door will be manned from 12.45pm, no
admittance prior to this. These rules are due to the Health
and Safety applied during our time in the theatre as the
safety of the cast is of paramount importance.
For our first performance on Tuesday 5th May, please
arrive at the theatre at 6pm, again the stage door will not
be manned prior to this. Please do not bring mobile
phones or electronic games to the theatre as they can
interfere with the sound system and we cannot take
responsibility for such expensive items should they get lost
or broken. If cast are found with these items they will
removed, stored safely and returned at the end of the
evening.

costumes please be aware that you may have to wait while
they are completed.
Gang show
badges
These need
to be sewn on the right hand side of the front of the
uniform.
And now the
rules and regulations
.
Care of
Costumes
·
Please hang
up all costumes on named coat hangers.
·
Costumes
will have numbers in them and there is no need to name them
as well.
·
No costumes
must be washed or changed.
·
Anything
that needs to be ironed please iron on the wrong side of
the costume and use the coolest iron setting possible. Any
materials which are shiny and/or metallic, must only be
ironed if necessary on the wrong side.
·
Following
on from the dress rehearsal last week it was clear that some
cast members got rather hot. Can you please ensure that for
the comfort of all cast members that personal hygiene is
attended to.
In the
theatre
·
Everyone
will need to bring a small box to the theatre in which to
place their personal possessions such as combs, socks etc.
This needs to be named and small enough to go under a chair.
·
No mobiles
or electronic items will be allowed in the changing rooms as
they interfere with the sound system please leave them at
home. The Gangshow staff all have mobiles on them in case
of emergencies.
·
Long hair
needs to be tied back and natural hair colour bobbles worn.
·
No fizzy
drinks please and all other drinks in screw top bottles or
cartons.
·
Food and
drink will be allowed during half time and will need to be
consumed in the corridors outside the dressing rooms.
·
No
jewellery (except wedding rings) or watches may be worn on
stage.
·
Make-up
will be provided and applied by Gangshow staff if you or
your child suffer from any allergies to make-up please see a
member of the wardrobe robe team. The make-up applied is
only light and it is necessary for all cast members to have
some on. Without it the cast members will look very pale
and their features will disappear under the stage lighting.
·
Please
ensure that nail varnish is removed before arriving at the
theatre.
·
Dont
forget your black socks and daps or jazz shoes.
·
After the
last night of the show please dont forget to leave all
the costumes including black trousers (worn for the finale)
behind.
Many thanks
